Khadija was the winner of the 2020 Muslim Legal Network long piece essay writing competition, winning a placement a a local law form. Her essay explored the intersection between reproductive rights, international law and its compatibility with Islam.
Khadija has an express interest in international law which let her to undertake a professional elective at university where she wrote an extensive essay on the effectiveness of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women in preventing femicide in Turkey.
Khadija's essay was referenced by the European Parliament in its report, Preventing, protecting, Providing Access to Justice: How can States Respond to Femicide?, which she regards as a "highlight of her budding career".
Outside of work, Khadija enjoys reading, and spending time with family and friends.
